Los Arcos

Here is Montse sitting with Em and Lex at Los Arcos, the taco place that we go to EVERY SINGLE time we travel to Mexico. They serve the best Tacos al Pastor in the entire city (me and Arturo's opinion). Arturo has been going here for 20+ years now! The girls are getting well trained in the fine art of Taco eating...

No pictures of the tacos themselves, because when the food hits the table, the talking stops, and the eating begins. No time for pictures!

Piccolo Mondo

Another trip to Piccolo Mondo, which is a mini indoor amusement park for kids.

Emma's love of Montse continued this trip, and it does seem to be reciprocated. Anytime Montse around, Emma wanted to hold her hand. It was very cute to see Emma being so kind. Now if she could only be like that with Alexa all the time!

Tequesquitengo

We spent two days in Tequesquitengo (how's that for a word?), a lakeside resort 2 hours south of Mexico City. What a blast - we swam in the pool, ate too much food, cruised around the lake, and visited some nearby ruins.

We finally caved, and let Alexa try on floaties. We've been so hesitant up until now, thinking it would prevent her from actually learning to swim. But we were pleasantly surprised - she loved swimming around in them all by herself, and I think it has helped build her confidence in the water.

Abi's Surprise Party at UAM

Abi's last day at the university was during our visit to Mexico, and her colleagues in her department had organized a surprise going away party for her. They invited all of us, her family, to be there - so we all took a field trip over to be in on the surprise.

We got there a little early, so I killed time with the girls playing "What time is it, Mr. Wolf?" Big hit.

Finally, it was time for the surprise. Emma could hardly stand the suspense - Pau, Emma, and Alexa all hid under a table and giggled and shushed each other.

Mexico Trip - Abi's Birthday Party

We have returned from our 10 days in Mexico. What a wonderful few days we had - we kick started the trip with Abi's birthday party, Mexican style. There were tacos made to order - and if you haven't had Tacos Al Pastor in Mexico, then you haven't had tacos. Period. I could eat these babies every single day of my life and never get sick of them. Heaven wrapped up in a tortilla.

Abi also had a guitar duo come to the house and perform classical Mexican and Spanish guitar songs. It was really so cool. And what Mexican party would be complete without a full on sing-a-long? The two professionals played about 30 minutes worth of prepared music, but then spent the remaining hour or so accompanying Arturo's family as they sang (very loudly) traditional Mexican songs. The photos don't do it justice, hopefully the video captured some of the craziness of the day.

Alexa loved the guitar dudes as much as I did. I caught her wiggling to the music a couple of times as she munched on her taco.
