Snow Babies

We had some good snow on Thursday -- I think it was about 2-3 inches. It's true when they say that kids don't seem to feel cold when they are playing in the snow -- Em and Lex were out for almost 2 hours straight, and it was pitch black at 6 pm before I could drag them back inside the house. Still they had so much fun making a snowman, some snow angels, and dragging their "snow babies" (aka, lumps of snow) in the sled.

Painters for Hire

We are in a race against time now, to get Old Quincy ready for the market! I just hope someone likes our little house and wants to buy it or rent it. The girls helped Arturo paint over Alexa's room so that it will be more appealing to potential buyers. The girls said goodbye to each flower and butterfly and then had fun with the paintbrush! Here they are painting primer over the flowers. Alexa still has paint on her hands that we can't get off!

Sydney's 5th Birthday Party

We had a blast at Syd's birthday party. Here are the girls (and Ginny and Alison) going through the obstacle course and sliding down the big slide!

70 Degree weather in January

The weather was a balmy 70 degrees today. Unbelievable! So the girls and I played in the treehouse out back in the afternoon. The 2nd and 3rd picture was taken when Emma and Lex spotted a plane flying above us and were waving to their cousins...

Dulles Town Center (1/1)

While the guys went to the hockey game, we brought the kids to the Dulles Town Center. Emma, Alexa, and Pau rode the merry-go-round three times without stopping...

New Year's Eve - Parents' Version

After the kids were in bed, we spent the hour or two before midnight having... a Sudoku competition! This was the 2nd one of the trip -- see how everyone is spread out across the rooms in total concentration... Arturo was still declared the winner, though Ale did beat him in one of them.

New Year's Count Down - Kids' Version

After we got home from dinner around 9 pm, we told the kids that it was going to be the New Year in 10 minutes!! The kids put on their party hats and tiaras and Abi decorated our family room with colorful decorations from Mexico.

The count down begins:

NY's Eve Dinner

We had New Year's Eve Dinner at Maggiano's -- stuffed ourselves silly with good food:

Carlos Queso (12/30)

While the guys were at the Redskins/Cowboys game, we took all the kids to Chuckie Cheese. I like Montse's expression, while sitting next to Barney:

Pau saw the ginormous rat and promptly ran up to him and gave him a hug. The rat looked at Alexa and she shrieked in fear:

Here Emma and Pau are dancing with Chuckie in front of a video camera that puts there face on the TV above them:
