Halloween in Vienna!

In the evening, we went over to Vienna to trick or treat with Sydney and Jujy. Their entire neighborhood had a pizza party, then the kids all paraded around before charging the houses for candy. Sydney and Emma had such a blast together -- running together from house to house in a frenzy and screaming "Trick or Treat!"

Halloween at Chesterbrook

Each Halloween, the kids at Chesterbrook get to go trick or treating at the office building next door. The people there always go all out -- dressing up and setting up themes in different parts of the office. Arturo took the morning off and went with the girls and their classes. Here's Alexa as a witch and Emma as Lolly from Candyland.

Halloween Edible Art

This afternoon, the girls and I worked on our Halloween Lollipops. They were Moonpies that we stuck a lollipop stick in and then decorated with candy corn, pumpkins and sprinkles. The girls really had fun doing this!

Emma named her Moonpie masterpiece "The Pumpkin Patch." The pumpkin patch has candy corn mountains as well as orange and black snow (the sprinkles).

Alexa just threw everything on top willy nilly. A true Artiste.

This picture was taken by Emma. Note my Moonpie! :)

Peggy's Pumpkin Party

We went to another pumpkin patch this weekend in search of pony rides. The girls also got to slide down a huge hay slide. Alexa LOVED the pony rides. The entire time she was on the pony (which wasn't very long...) she was cracking up and saying, "Yee Haw!!" and "Neigh Neigh!" It was pretty funny. When it was over, she stood by the side sobbing and sobbing because she wanted another turn. Emma was our little scaredy cat. She didn't want to ride the pony until she saw how much fun Alexa was having. Then she decided she could do it, and ended up having just have much fun.

Random Pictures

Right before we went out Saturday afternoon, Alexa put on her hat backwards and declared she was Daddy. We had to get a shot of the cutie below.

Here's Em and Arturo pretending to be asleep in the lobby of my doctor's office.

Emma

Emma reading in the new reading corner, and a preview of her Halloween costume. (She is going to be Lolly from Candyland...)

Ballet Saturday

Fireball

Our neighbor, Scott, goes on vacation a couple times a year -- and we always help out by visiting his cat Fireball and his gerbils -- Pookie and Pickles. The girls think it is the biggest treat to get to go over and visit the animals. Here are the girls trekking over in the rain (they each insisted on holding their own umbrella. Note Alexa is nearly being toppled over by hers...) and playing with Fireball.

Serious Emma

The rainy days have meant lots of indoor activities this week. Here's Emma working on a necklace of beads -- concentrating really hard and being very serious.

Let the Leaf Jumping Begin!

Pumpkin Carving

Getting ready to carve our pumpkin... The girls have perfected the "fake smile."

Alexa wanted nothing to do with sticking her hand in the pumpkin!

Bridge

Emma has been really into her gymnastics classes. She's been practicing the Bridge a lot (precursor to the back walk over) and is really getting good! Here she is trying to "teach" Arturo how to perform the bridge. (Arturo truly can't do this!)

Pumpkin Patch

We visited the Pumpkin Patch this weekend (I'm finally feeling human again from my wisdom teeth - yay!) and the girls had a blast jumping on the moon bounce and running around the hay. Looking for the perfect pumpkin...not so interesting though...

I can't get over how much the girls have grown!

Grow your own Bug

Arturo has been wonderful these last few days while I'm still recovering from having my 3 wisdom teeth out. This weekend, he basically took care of the girls the whole time, taking them on bike rides throughout the neighborhood and doing art projects with them. Here they are, fascinated with those sponge capsule things. It's this little pill that you put into hot water, and presto! -- it turns into a big bug before your eyes.

Zullianna's Birthday Party

Emma and her friend from school, Zullianna, love playing together -- here they are carefully examining something, though I don't know what!
