She's done it! After a full year on training wheels, and several failed attempts at removing her training wheels, we successfully got Emma on two wheels. To her credit, she's been riding on a 16" inch bike, and it's so tall that she could barely get herself started when we removed the wheels. Then, we took off the training wheels from Alexa's bike (which is only a 12" bike) and Emma was off! With this bike, her feet can reach the ground, so she can push herself off and pedal. (Not too worry, our neighbor Maura lent Alexa Jed's old bike, so she still has one to ride) The best part of this all is that Emma is SO thrilled with herself!
